Indian stories, opportunities, challenges and insights, showcased to a diverse and accomplished audience comprising leaders across industry and government, Wharton and Penn alumni, and current students.

Along the lines of the Philadelphia conference, sessions at the Mumbai conference will be focused around the conference-wide themes of diversified business models, disruptive strategies and delivery of value. Speaker sessions will cover a variety of topics ranging from industry deep dives to discussing building and scaling businesses in India.

Vishal Khare is the Director of Enterprise Business at Citrix Systems India and is responsible for planning and executing business strategies for Citrix in India Subcontinent. He is an active angel investor, having invested in 10+ startups including AdStringO, and plays an active role in the Indian Angel Network. Vishal’s areas of interest are early-stage startups, which can project real and scalable business opportunities in any relevant field. Vishal holds an MBA degree from the Institute of Finance and International Management, Bengaluru and has a passion for travelling, gadgets and technology.

Mr. Karan Mohla is Executive Director and Head of Consumer Media & Technology sector at IDG Ventures India Advisors. He has been investing in Indian companies since 2009 and has over 12 years of experience in the technology industry across India and the US. Prior to IDG Ventures, Karan worked with QVT Finance LP, a US based hedge fund and was a founding member of their Asia-Pacific practice. He earlier worked in the technology banking group at Jefferies & Company (formerly Broadview International) in Silicon Valley, where he advised several technology companies in Internet, Mobile and Enterprise Software on capital raising, M&A as well as strategic partnerships. Later, Karan helped start the firm’s India office, where he advised and executed financing strategies for companies in the Technology, Media, Telecom, CleanTech and Education sectors. He has successfully completed over 20 transactions covering M&A and capital raising for corporates across India and the US. Karan holds an EMBA from INSEAD and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.

Preeti Sinha is Senior President & Global Convenor of YES Global Institute; a practicing think tank at YES Bank. She serves on the Board of SIX (Social Innovation Exchange), UK which inspires, connects and supports social innovators. She is also on the Board of Trustees of International Network of Bamboo and Rattan (INBAR), an intergovernmental organization promoting bamboo sector and sustainable livelihoods. Preeti is also prevalent on the Green Business Certification Inc. India’s (GBCI India) CEO Advisory Council, which aims to exclusively administer project certifications and professional credentials of LEED, EDGE, PEER, WELL, SITES, GRESB, Parksmart and Zero Waste. She was selected to be on the jury committee for the Solutions Summit for the United Nations 2017. With over 25 years of global experience, she leads the YES Institute in New Delhi. Preeti holds an executive education degree from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, a masters degree in Global Leadership from the World Economic Forum, and an MBA from the Yale University School of Management. She has a BA Honors degree from the Dartmouth College in Economics and Computer Science.

Shivani Bhasin Sachdeva is Founder, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of India Alternatives. Shivani has over 17 years of venture capital and private equity experience in the US and in India at top venture capital and private equity funds including IDFC Private Equity, Lightyear Capital and GE Equity where she has been responsible for deal sourcing, execution and monitoring companies across various sectors. Shivani has helped shape strategy at various companies at both the startup stage and growth stage through board level involvement and been instrumental in generating superior returns for her investors. Shivani is an MBA from Wharton and a BA from Mount Holyoke College (Massachusetts).

Sandeep Murthy is Partner at Lightbox. Sandeep moved to Mumbai in 2005 to lead Sherpalo Ventures in India. As a Partner with Sherpalo he has been a part of three Indian technology unicorns ($1 billion value companies – InfoEdge, InMobi and Shopclues). He did his undergrad in both business and engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He dove into investment banking, by moving out to Palo Alto, California to join CSFB Technology Group. Sandeep then teamed up with a friend to build a digital music company that was incubated by Sony Music, and ended up selling the company to Sony after the Internet bubble burst. Later, after completing his MBA from Wharton, he moved to New York City to join InterActive Corp (IAC) – the owners of Expedia, TicketMaster, Home Shopping Network and other consumer technology businesses. While at IAC he helped launched Gifts.com and started to explore the India technology opportunity.

Rehan Yar Khan is Managing Partner of Orios Venture Partners, a seed stage consumer venture capital firm currently investing from its Fund II. Orios' portfolio includes Yumist, PrettySecrets, ZipGo, PharmEasy and Ziffi. Rehan has previously led investments in OlaCabs and Druva. Rehan has been an entrepreneur since 1992, building 3 companies along the way and being closely involved in the establishment of Indian Angel Network and Harvard Angels. He is the Co-Chair of India Venture Capital Association's Manage in India Council, member of the Venture Capital Council and part of various Policy Advisory committees.
